Turn heads and experience a day in the fast lane in a supercar around the sights of central London

Choose from a cruise around Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, or experience the sheer power of the car on the country lanes

It's a hot, sunny day, you are cruising around the London sights in a soft top Maserati GranCabrio with the wind blowing through your hair and feeling fabulous.

Sounds like a dream, right?

Meet Harry, a beautiful, white Maserati GranCabrio 4.7 V8, the pride and joy of GT Rush owner and founder, Jamie Schachar, and your ride around London.

Fancy taking this beauty for a spin?

GT Rush offer an alternative driving experience to a track day, with the opportunity to drive a supercar around the many sights of London including the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.

If that doesn't take your fancy, you could head out into the country lanes on the outskirts of the capital and experience the magic of this powerful 440bhp car, driving for up to around four hours.

Take a trip down the Mall

Myself and fellow reporter, Michael Pearson, were lucky enough to experience a day in the fast lane in central London, taking a spin to test out the experience.

I took to the wheel first, Jamie directing me from Hyde Park around Marble Arch and up to a much quieter Regent's Park, where I was able to fully experience the immediate and powerful response of the engine.

Harry has the power to speed from zero to 60mph in just five seconds, but of course, in the centre of London, we did not test this out!

I was also surprised by how easy the car was to drive and after the initial fear of slightly scratching the gleaming wheel rims, I began to feel pretty comfortable, mentally adding one of these supercars to my 'dream on' Christmas list!

Harry can go from zero to 60mph in just five seconds!

"I've always been a pretty big fan of sports cars and I really wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience driving a sports car, which is quite a special experience, so I wanted to make it relatively convenient for people to actually do that," says Jamie.

He adds: "We do rides in and around London and we also do rides out in the countryside, we start from here and we can drive out to the motorway and out onto some country lanes."

Time for Michael to get behind the wheel, as he chauffeured myself and Jamie around the bustling streets of London.

We cruised down into Piccadilly Circus and around Trafalgar Square, turning heads on our way.

As always, the traffic in central London was heavy at times, providing a great opportunity to grab a few shots and take in the beautiful sights of London.

We were soon accelerating away again, and from Trafalgar Square, we took a trip down Whitehall towards Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, concluding the outing journeying down the Mall past the iconic Buckingham Palace.

Certainly an experience we won't be forgetting for a long while!

Experiences start from £79

And it appears the feeling is shared, as one Tripadviser review says:

“Jamie’s skilled direction meant we were able to get the best out of the traffic.

"His excellent guidance made the whole experience exceptional."

Jamie is on hand to direct you through London

Another said: "What a fantastic experience to drive, accelerate and hear the music of the V8 in manual sport mode, top down, end December in central London."

Jamie is looking to expand the fleet, with plans to bring in an Aston Martin to join Harry, and potentially a Jaguar F-TYPE, an electric car and even classic cars in the future.

Experiences start from £79 for a drive around the London sights, just don't forget a companion with a camera to ensure you capture your driving experience from the back seat.
