Excitement is building across the capital ahead of Friday's solar eclipse.

People around London - and across the country - are preparing to be plunged into darkness during the rare event.

The eclipse will cast a shadow over Britain on Friday morning (March 20) and Londoners will be able to catch a glimpse of the phenomenon - assuming it isn't too cloudy and the toxic smog doesn't obscure the view - at 9.31am.

To show when the eclipse will happen in your area, and how dark it will be, Esri UK has produced an interactive guide.
