Author Paul D Gilbert, who has written the latest installment in a new series of novels starring beloved fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, is coming to Harrow for a book signing.
Sherlock Holmes and the Unholy Trinity, will be released Friday May 29, and the signing will take place the following day from 11am in Waterstones in St Anns Road.
The author, who works in a firm of undertakers as his day job, has written five books about the fictional detective so far.
Gilbert said: "This one is a bit grittier, there's more violence to it. But I've kept very faithful to the original works. It's based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's teaser references in his work."
After the film adaptation, starring Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr, was released in 2009, and the popular BBC adaptation Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, came to screens, Sherlock Holmes fever has hit!
But Gilbert explained his fascination for the character stemmed from loving the books growing up, and then going on to enjoy the 80s television drama based on the detective.
Gilbert said: "I found that I had a knack for capturing the essence of Conan Doyle!"
Gilbert's book series also includes; The Chronicles of Sherlock Holmes, The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes, The Annals of Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes and the Giant Rat of Sumatra.
