Paramedics in Isleworth have recorded a summer song to raise money for a much-needed second Air Ambulance.

The song - a mash-up of Buddy Holly's Raining In My Heart, Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk and Taylor Swift's Shake it Off - has been made with the aim of reaching 1m hits and raising vital funds for the Air Ambulance campaign.

The lyrics were altered to include thank yous to doctors, nurses and paramedics, with the singer claiming: "It's Saturday night and we're on nights!"

Graham Card, duty officer at Isleworth ambulance station, said: "We're aiming for 1m hits. If you don't go for something big, you'll never get it."

Card has asked viewers to donate £1 to London's second Air Ambulance if they like the song, which was recorded and filmed at the station in Mogden Lane.

Isleworth paramedics sing their hearts out for a good cause

Card said: "When our helicopter is offline, we haven't got another one available, but we really need them... The song is upbeat and flying out to you, but it's raining in our hearts."

Card has been a paramedic for 24 years and was working on the day of the 7/7 bombings. Card said that the memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral was "moving and touching".

Card and his colleagues last year recorded a Christmas song in order to raise money for London's Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes, performing their take on Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.

The fundraising campaign for the second helicopter is hoping to raise more than £6 million. The second helicopter will reportedly extend the charity's daylight flying hours for another five years and reach an additional 400 patients a year.
