With everything from a fiery tango to an urban astronaut, you won't want to miss Bell Square's free performances this year

It's free, it's fun and it's world class - the outdoor arts space in the centre of Hounslow High Street is back for another year.

Bell Square is set to be brought to life once again with 17 performances aimed to inspire people of all ages.

The innovative, purpose built arts space will be opened up from May 6 offering Hounslow locals and visitors alike the chance to enjoy live entertainment from some of the best outdoor performers in the world.

Director of Watermans, who programme Bell Square events, Jan Lennox, said: "Bell Square London is loved by the local community and brings visitors into the area to experience this cultural extravaganza against the backdrop of Hounslow’s busy town centre.

"As always, audiences can expect an eclectic mix of work this year from diverse organisations and nationalities.

"We look forward to welcoming our audience regulars back and many new faces too over the coming months."

Since the outdoor arts space launched back in 2014, it has played host to an array of performances from circus to dance, theatre and acrobats.

What is there to look forward to in 2017?

The square will be offering a mix of theatre and modern dance, tango with fire, circus, hip hop and even an urban astronaut is performing. Intrigued? We are!

There will be performances from several UK based companies and groups from France, Poland and Catalunya in Spain.

First up, at 9pm on May 6, there will be fire as the centre of Hounslow is lit up by a fiery tango in a 30 minute performance by dance company, Cie Bilbobasso.

The group are returning to the space after launching Bell Square back in 2014.

If you are looking for something slightly more quirky, you can catch an aerial performance on June 17, exploring the possibilities for solving the problem of pollution in the world.

Can I just turn up?

Yes, performances are free and no booking is required, although you may wish to get there early to grab a good spot in the audience.

Performances are held every other Saturday in the square which offers seating and standing space.
