Fancy getting back to nature and exploring your local stretch of the River Thames this weekend?

The third annual TideFest event will be coming to the River Thames on Sunday (September 11), and will take place at Strand-on-the-Green in Chiswick , as well as Brentford , Barnes and other locations along the Thames Tideway.

The event is part of the month-long Totally Thames festival, and aims to highlight the recreational importance of the Thames to Londoners, as well as encouraging people to enjoy the river.

A huge range of activities will be going on from 9am to 7pm during the day, at either free or very affordable rates.

Fun family activities that you can watch or take part in include: Stand-up paddleboarding (Kew Bridge), kayak taster sessions (Kew Bridge), archaeological tours, children's activities, boat trips, the Thames Tideway Angling Championship, and more!

And don't miss the "mass paddle" from Kew to Putney , starting at 2pm, in aid of the charity Water Aid.

Gordon Scorer, chief executive of the London Wildlife Trust said: "TideFest is a great opportunity to enjoy a day by the river with lots to see and do, both on and off the water.

"You can discover what lives in the river, explore the river's archaeological history or get out on the water by boat, kayak or even stand-up paddleboard.

"The Trust will also be on hand to talk about London's wildlife, and we'd love to see you there!"
