London's famous Mela Festival is soon to return to Gunnersbury Park in Ealing, with festivities taking place on Sunday September 6.

The event, Europe's largest South Asian festival, returns with a spectacular line-up of live music, dance, visual arts and food from South Asia.

The festival will feature the best in classical music, British Asian urban artists, dance, comedy and cabaret, Asian-influenced street theatre and circus, and exhibitions.

There will be two stages at the festival; the Main Stage, and the BBC Asian Network Stage. The line-up for the latter has just been announced.

BBC Asian Network presents shows by Panjabi Hit Squad, Kan D Man and DJ Limelight, and Yasser. These presenters will be performing DJ sets on the Asian Network Stage, as well as introducing the following British Asian and international acts to the crowds:

  • Zack Knight: A British Asian singer-songwriter, who has a style of mixing popular Bollywood songs with R&B, and has previously written for Tinie Tempah and Ginuwine.
  • Sama Blake: From the Netherlands, Blake made his debut with Sniper in 2012, and has since worked with Eren E, Noreen Khan and has been playlisted on Asian Network.
  • Jernade Miah: An east London-based singer, Jernade has previously performed as Asian Network presenter Bobby Friction's BBC Introducing artist at Maida Vale studios.
  • Cold Fever: A producer, songwriter and rapper, Cold Fever this year performed at Glastonbury 2015. Cold Fever grew up with a mix of reggae, jazz and soul, influenced by his Jamaican father and Indian mother. This blend inspired the creation of "Desi Reggae".

Mark Strippel, head of programmes for Asian Network, said: "No-one champions British-Asian music and youth culture like BBC Asian Network and this year we present our most distinctive London Mela offering yet with some fantastic DJs and artists gracing the BBC Asian Network stage."

The Main Stage line-up is yet to be announced.
