In 2014, a whopping 36,000 runners took to the streets to run the 26.2-mile London Marathon, including local celebrities and sports stars, such as Olympic medalist Mo Farrah.

The race route goes through areas of west London, such as Westminster, so you don't need to travel far in order to get prime position to cheer people on.

Whether you've signed up to run or not, there's always a way to get involved and support the runners and fantastic charities; just remember to save the date.

This year's race is set to take place on Sunday April 26.

Since the race began, in 1981, more than £716m has been raised for various worthy charities, so if you want to get involved visit the website.
