Yes, the classic 70s toy is back for one day only in London, with an attempt to break a world record for the most people on space hoppers, and you are invited!

The current world record stands at 2,943 people on space hoppers, which was achieved in Johannesburg in 2013.

This is your opportunity to share your beloved childhood toy with your children and tick off a world record from your to do list at the same time.

The event is organised by TickTheBucket, a bucketlist themed social network, and London Flashmob, an organiser of spontaneous events in the city.

Do I have to bring my own space hopper?

You may be gagging to dust off that beloved space hopper in the back of your garage, but that is not a necessity.

Upon arrival, you will be given a free space hopper, as part of your ticket price.

When can I get hopping?

Monday May 29 is the set date - which falls on a bank holiday.

The event starts at 12pm, with the world record attempt between 2.30pm and 3pm, so make sure you are on your space hopper at the ready by then!

Where is it?

The challenge will take place along the River Thames, between Barnes Bridge and Chiswick stations, at King’s House Sports Ground, Riverside Dr, Chiswick, London, W4 2SH.

There is a bar on site and organisers are encouraging those attending to bring a picnic.
