A music tutor at Fulham performing arts school Little Voices has bagged a major West End role alongside Game of Thrones star Kit Harington.

Brian Gilligan, who has been a tutor at Little Voices South West London for over a year, will be playing the part of Cornelius, as well as covering the lead role of Doctor Faustus.

Brian Gilligan said: "The opportunity to perform in The West End again is absolutely fantastic. It's one of the ultimate achievements for any performer, and I'm really delighted to be taking part in the classic Marlowe play Doctor Faustus, which has a completely fresh interpretation by Jamie Lloyd (director).

"Originally when I had auditioned for the production, the role I was seen for was not the role I had been offered, but to even get an offer for this production was overwhelming enough. I just didn't expect it to include covering the lead. The next three months are going to be very exciting."

Little Voices Performing Arts School has centres across South West London, including Fulham, Putney, Wansworth and Richmond, and provides tuition in musical theatre, drama, acting and singing.

Little Voices' Principal, Ashlea Pearson, said: "It is no surprise Brian has secured yet another amazing role, Brian has a huge talent and we are so proud of him.

"At Little Voices we pride ourselves in providing outstanding tuition, expert guidance, support and traditional methods of teaching drama and singing, and Brian's natural gift has helped many of our students flourish!

"We hope many of our students will be inspired by Brian's achievements and go on to follow in his footsteps."

The production, which tells the tale of a man who sells his soul to the devil for the power to perform black magic, has been given a three-week extension to Saturday June 25 due to "unprecedented demand" for tickets.

Doctor Faustus opens on Saturday April 9 at the Duke Of York's Theatre. Tickets cost from £15 and can be booked online.
