Football legends including Ron 'Chopper' Harris are once again teaming up to help grant the wishes of children battling life-threatening conditions.

Last year's Evening With Football Legends at The Pope John Centre, in Heston, raised £3,275 for the charity Make-a-Wish UK, which transforms the dreams of seriously-ill youngsters into reality.

This year, the 'Chopper' is back leading a new line-up of eight greats from the game, including Kenny Samson, John Hollins and Gary Chivers.

They will talk about the lows and highs from their playing days during the charity event at the same location on April 30.

Last year's event helped four-year-old battling kidney cancer

Money from last year's event, where stars included Pat Jennings and Tommy Docherty, helped grant the wish of four-year-old Daniel Tofte, who was battling kidney cancer.

He got to fulfil his dream of being a police dog handler when he joined officers in Surrey for the day.

Mr Corbett said: "Last year's event was a great success and we're delighted to be back with a great line-up.

"Hopefully there'll be another great turn-out and we can raise even more to grant the wishes of youngsters like Daniel who are battling life-threatening conditions."
