A fifth band is being sought to complete the line-up for a charity concert in Hounslow in aid of the homeless.

Four local bands have already signed up to play for free at the Hounslow Hootenanny on July 16, and organisers are keen to add one more act.

The gig at the Musical Museum, in High Street, Brentford , is being staged to raise money for The Shelter Project Hounslow.

The charity, which provides refuge for homeless men at churches across the borough during the winter, was recently featured on the Channel 4 documentary How to Get a Council House.

The event is being organised by local musicians Julian Joyce and Edwin Addis.

Julian, who volunteers for The Shelter Project and plays in the bands Jam Junkies and The Howdo, said: "The Musical Museum is such a brilliant venue, and we thought it would be amazing to play an evening of our own songs in aid of the homeless.

"Hopefully we can get a good crowd on the night to help us support this great cause."

Music and comedy promoter Maria Kempinska, who owns the Dingwalls brand and founded Jongleurs comedy, is helping to choose the final band, and more details are due to be announced shortly.

The Hounslow Hootenanny has been supported with a grant from Hounslow Council but organisers, who hope to make it a regular event if it proves successful, are seeking additional sponsors.

The Hounslow Hootenanny will take place at the Musical Museum, in High Street, Brentford, on Saturday, July 16 at 7.30pm.
