The sun shone brightly in Ruislip High Street for the official opening of All Aboard’s 19th shop.

Ex- Eastenders star Derek Martin, who played Charlie Slater in the soap, headed to west London for the special opening, which Town crier Tony Appleton made sure everyone in the high street knew about.

Outgoing Mayor of Hillingdon, councillor Allan Kauffman joined Mr Martin to cut the ribbon before he was presented with a cheque to add to his charity Rainbow Appeal.

All Aboard, which was set to support Jewish charitable and welfare organisations, now raises money for a range of charities including over 50 UK Registered Jewish Charities.

97-year-old Stella Lucas, the founder of the first charity shop, together with three other Trustees of the chain lent support to the staff and volunteers as donated merchandise flew out of the shop, thanks to the Eastenders actor offering to model the red feather boa and stopping for selfies with customers.
