Organisers of the Ealing Half Marathon have announced that the 2015 event has sold out, with a record number of 7,000 places allocated to runners of all levels.

The half marathon takes place on Sunday September 27 over a 13.1-mile route on closed roads around the streets of the west London borough.

Starting and finishing in Lammas Park, the race is a single lap through central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephen's.

The race will be started by the parents and brother of Andrew Carter, who passed away in hospital after collapsing near the Ealing Half Marathon finish line last year.

Many of Andrew's family and friends will also be taking part in this year's race as a tribute to Andrew.

The Ealing Half Marathon

Will be starting in

The Ealing Half Marathon is one of only three fully road closed half marathons in London, and in 2014 and 2015 was voted best Half Marathon in the UK.

The Ealing Half Marathon starts at 9am. The Ealing Mini Mile, which is also sold out, takes place at 9.15am and will see young runners of all levels aged six to 16 covering a one-mile route around Lammas Park.

Race Director, Kelvin Walker, said: "We are pleased to announce the sell out of the fourth Ealing Half Marathon and we would like to thank everyone who has been supporting the race, including Ealing Council, our partners, local businesses and residents.

"What sets the Ealing Half Marathon apart from other events and races is the fact that it is organised by a community interest company, with any surplus ploughed back into schools and community events.

"The start field for the 2015 race is looking strong and we can't wait to welcome thousands of runners to Ealing on September 27.

"We would like to encourage everyone to spread the #EalingFeeling, which has contributed to firmly putting our borough on the map as far as high profile running events go."
