Westminster’s largest outdoor cultural festival and week long celebration of SW1 is back this month.

SouthWestFest returns from June 19-28 and is working with partners such as the Royal Court and Tate Britain to put on over 20 events in a programmes which promises to provide an outstanding and diverse free or low cost activities.

Among the many highlights will be:

  • Free scriptwriting workshops and master class co-produced by SWF and the Royal Court, culminating in a one off show SWOnce held at St James Theatre
  • Writing competition, Stories of SW1, this year featuring the input of award winning authors Hannah Vincent and Young People’s Laureate for Wales, Martin Daws
  • The Pimlico Proms taking place in St George’s Square featuring Kew Wind Orchestra and Opera Singer Martin Aelred
  • SouthWestFest Festival Day at St George’s Square with expected crowds of over 9,000 residents flocking to the event to enjoy the live music, performance, rides, stalls and activities
  • Tours and special events with taking place with Tate Britain and Millbank Gardens
  • Peter Pan’s Picnic at Millbank Gardens, where you can join Peter Pan, Wendy, the Lost Boys and Captain Hook for an afternoon’s family friendly entrainment, interactive games and activities, kindly Sponsored by Berkeley and St Edward
