A taste of Bollywood and a riot of colour is coming to Uxbridge when it celebrates a special festival.
Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex is hosting the Indian festival of colour Holi with a day of dancing, tasty food and fun at the Gatting Way centre.
The Fusion Bollywood Festival of Colour takes place on March 12, just a week after the Holi festival. This is the Hindu Spring festival best known for the carnival of colour where friends, neighbours and family throw bright dry powders over each other.
Events at the leisure centre begin with a Bollywood dance class in Studio 1 running between 10.45am-11.30am. The class is free but donations will be welcome.
Next is an Indian buffet in the Clive Hamilton Room. This takes place between midday and 2pm and costs £5. Everyone attending is asked to bring an India dish to the buffet.
The highlight of the day takes place, weather-permitting, at 2pm, with the throwing of coloured powder. Participants are encouraged to wear white clothes to make the most of dazzling colours.
Booking is required for these events and tickets are available on 07753 244248.
Tickets for the buffet are £5 and spaces are limited to 40 spaces. They can also be purchased on 07753 244248.
The festival of Holi takes place on March 6.
