But how can you maximise your bank holidays and fly off somewhere sunny for a bargain bonanza?

We've put together a list of date hacks to help you get off as much time as possible without having to take much annual leave.

How can I stay away for longer on the bank holidays?

Take your annual leave around the dates. You can jet off to somewhere exotic and have a whole 16 days to play with for just eight days of paid leave if you go between Monday March 21 and Friday April 1.

Book off these dates: March 21, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and April 1.
