Tinsel, turkey and trees, of the Christmas variety of course, all now a distant memory and the festive blues are well and truly setting in.

Whilst our Scottish neighbours are celebrating with an extra Bank Holiday today, Tuesday January 3, people across England have been forced to peel out of their slightly tighter PJs and rummage to the back of our wardrobes for our work suits.

And as England woke up on January 3, to its first day of work in 2017, Twitter was the medium for everyone's outpouring of pain, or in Scotland's case, joy!

But it will be a case of powering through I'm afraid as the next bank holiday isn't until April 14, which is Good Friday.

So take your new coffee machine out of its Christmas wrapping and get sipping on an Americano to fuel you through.

We have already enjoyed one of our eight bank holidays, January 2, but we still have another seven to enjoy.

2017 bank holidays to look forward to:

  • Friday, April 14 - Good Friday.
  • Monday, April 17 - Easter Monday.
  • Monday, May 1 - Early May Bank Holiday.
  • Monday, May 29 - Spring Bank Holiday.
  • Monday, August 28 - Summer Bank Holiday.
  • Monday, December 25 - Christmas Day.
  • Tuesday, December 26 - Boxing Day.

Only 14 weeks to wait until your next three day weekend, the countdown begins!
