Arla development: South Ruislip's 11-screen Cineworld opening date moved forward

Asda, Nando's and Chiquito's have already opened on the Old Dairy site

There is just one month left until the opening of South Ruislip's 11-screen Cineworld at the £49 million Old Dairy development.

The site, which has 183 homes, has already seen the Asda superstore and Nando's and Chiquito's restaurants open to the public.

The opening date for the Cineworld has been moved up, meaning it will now welcome film fans on Wednesday, July 5 instead of the previously stated Friday, July 7.

Cineworld is opening soon

The redevelopment is on the site of the old Express Dairies which lay empty for years before construction started last year.

The Cineworld will show both Hollywood and Bollywood releases and will contain a Baskin Robbins and Starbucks to go with the usual multiplex concessions.

Asda's grand opening on the old Arla dairy site on May 22 saw hundreds of people queueing up to be among the first to enter the store.

The multiplex is also offering venue hire and special £2 tickets for "juniors" during school holidays.

Sam Tomlinson, Cineworld South Ruislip general manager, previously said: "We cannot wait to open Cineworld South Ruislip in time for such a fantastic line-up of films coming up, like Dunkirk, War for the Planet of the Apes, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and many more.

"We are looking forward to welcoming the community to share our passion for film."
