Get the tissues ready.

One of the UK's most-loved men - Tom Hardy - is about to do his final CBeebies Bedtime Story in tribute to his beloved dog Woody, who died in June this year.

The English actor, recently seen in Dunkirk, will read Fleabag by Helen Stephens, a book about a scruffy little dog who needs a home and a lonely boy who really wants a dog. Awww.

Tom, who currently lives in Richmond, recorded his last story in 2016 with Woody next to him.

The 39-year-old rescued Woody while filming Lawless in Atlanta in the US and they had been inseparable ever since.

CBeebies shared a picture of the pair on their Facebook page yesterday.

They wrote: "We would like to thank Tom and his family who have allowed us to show this as a tribute to the memory of their dog Woody."

Tom recorded five stories for CBeebies, including Odd Dog Out, There's a Bear On My Chair, the Cloudspotter and You Must Bring a Hat.

His last story will air on National Dog Day on Saturday August 26.

Some people aren't happy about the news.

One Facebook user wrote: "Why last, why last?

"Unless it is to make way for Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gosling. If that happens then I will forgive you CBeebies."

CBeebies is yet announce who will replace the Oscar-nominated actor, but one thing is for sure: We will miss you, Tom!
