A full cast has just been announced for Tipping the Velvet at The Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith.

The play is based on the book by Sarah Waters, adapted by Laura Wade and directed by Lyndsey Turner.

The play will run at The Lyric Theatre from Monday September 28 to Saturday October 24 (with previews from Friday September 18), before transferring to the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh.

A spokeswoman for The Lyric Theatre said: "It's 1887 and Nancy Astley (Sally Messham) sits in the audience at her local music hall: she doesn't know it yet, but the next act on the bill will change her life.
