A full cast has been announced for William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith .

A Filter Theatre Production, the play is returning to The Lyric Theatre for four weeks, after its critically-acclaimed run in 2012. The Shakespeare comedy adaptation is co-directed by Sean Holmes and Stef O'Driscoll.

Jonathan Broadbent, Ed Gaughan, John Lightbody, Victoria Moseley and Ferdy Roberts return to the cast from its 2012 run, and will be joined by Hammed Animashaun, Andrew Buckley, Clare Dunne and Cat Simmons.

A spokeswoman for The Lyric Theatre said: "This classic tale of young lovers and warring fairies is given a unique and irreverent twist."

Hammed Animashaun, who will be playing Demetrius, said: "It's a ridiculous, amazing spectacle... The Lyric has a great energy and that really transfers to the stage.

"There are so many adaptations of Shakespeare, either conventional or non-conventional, but I think the reason people will really like this version is because you just see actors having fun and not taking it too seriously.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy, and sometimes people forget that."

The play will run from Friday February 19 to Saturday March 19. Tickets cost from £15 to £35. Call 020 8741 6850 to get yours, or book online .
