IT IS almost that time of year again when boys become girls, wicked stepmothers rule the roost and heroes are unable to sense any danger for themselves.

Under the watchful eye of its award-winning artistic director Sean Holmes, the Lyric Theatre will bring classic pantomime Cinderella to the stage.

West End star Julie Atherton will play the titular heroine with broadcaster and comedian Mel Giedroyc taking on the boo hiss role of the villainous evil stepmother, Ms Hardup.

In this reimagined version word reaches Tumbledown Castle that the prince will be holding a New Year’s Eve ‘pick a princess ball’ at Hammersmith Palais, so Ms Hardup and her hideous daughters dress to impress, leaving poor Cinders behind with nothing but rags and chores.

The production will run from Saturday, November 24 to Saturday, January 5, 2013.

Tickets start at £12.50 and are available on 020 8741 6850 or www.lyric.co.uk. Anyone who lives or works in Hammersmith and Fulham can claim up to four free tickets to see Cinderella on Saturday, November 24 at 6pm.

People need to visit the ticket office with proof of their home or work address on either the Friday or Saturday before to pick up their tickets. The Lyric runs free first nights for all its main house shows.
