Dancers from Pinner Theatre Dance School took to the stage to raise money for charity.

The school, which teaches tap, jazz, street dance and ballet to pupils aged three to 70, took part in three performances at Harrow School's Ryan Theatre in Harrow on the Hill.

The 235 dancers raised £3,000 and presented a cheque to a representative of Starlight Children's Foundation, which works with seriously ill children to provide treats and overseas travel.

Susanna Vincent-Taylor, principal of the school, said: "The children and adults alike all had a ball and the party atmosphere both on stage and in the auditorium was terrific."

Earlier this year the school appealed to Observer readers to help find a new venue for its tap classes.

Susanna has thanked all those who contacted her and as a result of the story the Ruislip

Manor Sports and Social Club agreed to host the classes from September.

Susanna said: "It was because of the article in the

Observer we found a new home for our tap classes.

"It means our 320 pupils can now continue to learn tap and have lots of fun."
