Holidays have come early to supermarkets and shops up and down the UK.

Stores have already stocked up on festive treats in time for Christmas ... in August.

There may be more than 100 days to go until Santa starts delivering presents, but that hasn't stopped shops from lining their shelves in seasonal treats.

People have vented their frustration on Twitter and Facebook at the premature crimbo promotions.

Tesco has already piled high tubs of Christmas chocolate selections such as Celebrations and Quality Streets.

According to other news websites , Rose O'Keefe posted on Tesco's official Facebook: “We have Halloween and bonfire night first and not forgetting the children aren't even back at school yet!

“What happened to the magic of the end of November and Christmas bits appearing? What happened to the excitement and build-up?"

One Mumsnet blogger was so outraged by the whole thing, she started a thread on the blogging site, saying: "It's TOO F****** EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS!"

As well as Tesco's seasonal tubs, Oxford Street reportedly has its festive displays up already and charity shops have started selling Christmas cards.

Poundland is also said to have started stocking Christmas craft bits and gift bags, while Hobby Craft is also selling decoration and craft kits.
