Professional local pianist Colin Stone is playing a debut concert on a newly-purchased instrument at St Mary's Church.

The free concert by the internationally reocgnised musician begins at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 22, at the church in Church Hill, Harrow on the Hill.

Organiser Irene Wears says: "St Mary's has long wanted to acquire a grand piano of good quality, both for use during services and for the many musical events that take place there.

"Years of fundraising by dedicated individuals and, finally, a generous grant from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts, has made this a reality.

"The piano is now in place and in regular use. This special recital formally celebrates its arrival.

"Colin Stone's programme will include music by Schubert, Schumann and Prokofiev. The event, including programme, is free.

"St Mary's is, after all, the borough church and the vicar, Tim Gosden, would like a borough-wide audience at this very special event."
