Cast your minds back to May 2003: the great British public were unwittingly preparing themselves for the wonder that was Beyonce’s Crazy in Love, Wimbledon lawns were being mowed to perfection and a small group of unknown individuals were preparing to spend the summer being filmed in a mysterious gated. That house was the Big Brother house, and amongst the future housemates was our very own Gos.

The house is long gone, as is Big Brother itself, but Gos outlived them both and is now our larger than life weekend breakfast show presenter. Every Saturday and Sunday he and his crew take over the Westside Radio studios, kicking off your weekend in style and getting you ready to party till Monday morning comes back around.

Since leaving the Big Brother house Gos has ventured into the world of radio, and before joining Westside FM, he hosted programmes for BBC Asian Network and appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live. “I’d always liked the idea of radio, and then once they put me in front of a microphone they couldn’t shut me up!” It wasn’t long before he appeared on Westside’s radar, and after hosting the weekday breakfast show, Gos made the switch over to weekends along with his madcap crew.

This crew features the one and only Rich, aka ‘Dr. Dick’. “Joining Westside”, he tells us, “was the biggest mistake of my life.” We’ll assume he’s joking…His features include "Word of the day" in which he chooses a tricky word that Gos and Bella have to guess. Then there's "Dick's Sing-a-long service" where the guys choose a new victim every week to ring up and sing a cheesy boy-band tune to, with varying results.

So what more can you expect if you tune in on a Saturday morning? Quite simply, it’s three hours of unmissable chaos. There’s great music, news, chat, gossip, travel, weather and plenty of surprises – there’s the wake-up tune, specially selected to jump you out of bed, as well as the weekend ‘Pet Sound’, a fresh new track that becomes the weekend theme song.

Let Gos and crew help you warm up for the weekend, and prepare to be entertained to within an inch of your life!
