London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon's Emily Chudy caught up with "Rainbow Pop Rock" band Tokyo Taboo.

Tokyo Taboo are a Harrow-based "rainbow pop rock" band with an "audacious" take on rock and roll.

The band began in 2013; and since then they have released two EPs and embarked upon a sell-out UK tour, support slots with JJ Rosa, and packed out shows in Los Angeles at renowned venues Whisky A Go Go, and the Viper Room.

Tokyo Taboo said: "We like LA bands like Dead Sara, Deap Vally and are really influenced by older bands like Led Zeppelin, Queen, Heart, Blondie... we like to mix it up!"

They added: "We have been together as a couple for almost half a decade and started making music before we got together! So it's been a long time of writing songs, playing shows and evolving. This is our second band together and it still feels very new and fresh!"

The EP, entitled Leech, will be out on Friday November 6, and features their first single, Bubbilicious. The single can be downloaded for free via Facebook.

Tokyo Taboo said: "We are heading back to LA to record more songs with our amazing producer Noah Shain in January. We try to concentrate on the present and enjoy the journey.

"As long as we are making music we love we are happy. Whatever happens as a result happens…"

A reviewer for Photo Groupie said: "Tokyo Taboo are one of those bands you can't help liking and sneakily have to admire. Brimming with influences from 80s electro to punk through to rock, they have successfully carved out their own genre niche."
