London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon's Emily Chudy caught up Brixon-based indie rock band The Thirst.

As well as busking in London, the band have an extensive gigging history, having played festivals all around the country, and supporting bands such as The Libertines and The Rolling Stones.

The Thirst consist of brothers Mensah Hart (vocals/guitar) and Kwame Hart (bass), Mark Lenihan (rhythm guitar) and Marcus Harris (drummer/backing vocals).

Mensah Hart, frontman of the band, said: "I would describe our music as a hybrid of indie funk with a hell of a lot of soul, and our style sophisticated rock 'n' roll.

"We get our inspiration from everyday life and situations. We love to many artists too mention... We started playing together when we were kids."

The band's forthcoming album, The Thirst, is set for release in 2016. You can listen to their EPs - including the most recent EP, True - and albums on Soundcloud.

The band will be headlining the O2 Academy in Islington on Thursday December 10 for their album showcase. This will be The Thirst's biggest London show to date.

Hart said: "The future for the thirst, I see sold out tours and a lot more good times with my brothers. We can't wait to go and play in the states as I think we will be very well received, and we love the American music scene."

A music reviewer for Pure said: "This band's sound was authentic, passionate, and left me questioning why I hadn't heard of them before?! This was real unadulterated fresh talent, and clearly a lot of people agreed."
