London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon 's Emily Chudy caught up with west London-based R&B and Afro Beats artist M-Fly.

M-Fly started producing music as a teenager while studying in west London, continuing to study music engineering in college. Influenced by British, American and African artists, M-Fly's music consists of R&B, Pop, Hip-hop and Afro beats.

M-Fly's newest single, My Song, will be released on Ghana Independence Day this year (March 6).

M-Fly said: "The way I would describe my music and style is that it's authentic, very melodic. I'm inspired by Afro beats and R&B so I would say it's a mixture of both genres.

"My inspiration... My biggest inspiration is my mum first of all, but musically I'm inspired by Bob Marley, Timbaland, Kanye West, Bisa Kdei - he's an Ghanaian Afro beats artist. Also I'm inspired by the artists in my team such as Skyne Blinks."

Now 22 years old, M-Fly has been making music since he was 13 years old, producing for artists such as Wiley, Rough Copy, and Dot Rotten, but is now trying to pursue a career in the music industry as an artist, having set up an independent label, One Nation.

M-Fly said: "I have my single coming out on Ghana Independence Day, it was filmed in Ghana. It goes by the name My Song.

"It was also produced by myself, but it's a remix from an R2Bees track also named My Song. Hopefully they hear it and I can get a remix from them, so R2bees, if you can hear me... Big up!"

About the future of his music, M-Fly said: "I can see my music being featured in films because I produce as well, I can see myself writing scores for movies. But it's not all about me, I can see my whole team doing well.

"There's other producers in my team, such as Carty S who creates trap step, also an artist called Skyne blinks - he's an Afro beats artist - and our DJ who goes by the name L Casey. I'd love to see my team One Nation taking over the music industry as an established record label.

"Where do I see my music going? Worldwide. Doing well."
