Inside the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes tomorrow night and you'll go back in time to an era of vintage cool.

Founded by DJ Dollyrocker (aka Chris Laing) in 2006, club night Shake, Rattle  & Bowl makes its home there twice a month.

"It's grown from a one-room party to a huge, two-room affair, drawing in 1,200 people plus each time," says the night's closing DJ. A self-confessed Beatles-maniac since childhood, Dollyrocker "treated his record player as his main toy" and his passion for music only intensified with age.

"I'm a bit of an old mod and not a bit ashamed of it," he says. "I grew up in Maidstone in Kent. The bible says that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains, but with faith the size of a record player, you can move out of Maidstone. Now that really WAS a miracle!," he laughs.

Tomorrow night will see Dollyrocker close the night, with long-term resident DJ Barbarella and girl DJ duo The Dirty DeeTee's playing lots of old rock n' roll, motown, psych grooves, soul, rhythm and blues, ska, doo-wop and more across both rooms to keep you moving.

"We all tend to play lots of unique cover versions and original versions of well known tunes, so it keeps things both obscure yet familiar, resulting in a packed dancefloor! I normally do the last hour with a grand finale of some Northern Soul, plus plenty of Beatles, Stones, Kinks etc to keep everyone dancing."

Besides the dancing and 10-pin bowls, punters can also tuck in to some food and drink at the retro-themed diner; hold hands during a flick at the free cinema; or sing along to their favourite tracks (read: deafen their friends) in one of several karaoke rooms (which can be booked in advance).

Roll up at around 7.30pm to book bowling lanes, and get ready to rock around the clock - go dressed to impress!
