One of the great British opera voices will be entertaining audiences with an evening of music and chat.
On Thursday (10) Harrow Opera is hosting an evening with Pauline Tinsley, president of Harrow Opera and arguably the greatest British soprano of her era and one of the greatest Verdi sopranos of all time.
There will be a chance to listen to some rare recordings made during her international career and between items she will be entertaining the audience with anecdotes relating to singers, conductors and directors she has worked with.
The event will take place in Harrow School's magnificent Old Harrovian Room from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5, payable at the door.
Harrow Opera is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. The group rehearses regularly on Thursday evenings from 7.30 pm at the Harrow Arts Centre, Uxbridge Road in Hatch End.
New members are always welcome, singers of all standards and in all voices. The group is currently rehearsing for Cosi fan tutte, a Mozart comedy scheduled for March 2009.
