MUSIC: HUSH

No, it's not a grumpy old finger-waver telling you to be quiet at the Proms. Hush is the second season of the best initiative at the Royal Albert Hall since the Ignite series of free Friday concerts.

Aiming to promote young British talent, Ben Onono, Roxy Rawson and Orphans & Vandals will float their acoustic, electronic and eclectic notes through the 200-seat Elgar Rooms. Book ASAP as it's bound to be a sell out.

**Hush with Ben Onono, violinist Roxy Rawson, Orphans & Vandals is at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, on Tuesday, February 24. 7.30pm. £10/7.50 in advance. Call 020 7589 8212.

LIVE SOUNDS: Tricky

DARK, brooding, unconventional and sexual, Tricky at his best is a meditative experience.

Stirring baselines cultivated from his Massive Attack days, mixed with ambiguous lyrics can drag you into another part of your head.

His pop and punk moments aren't all that, but with an ever-expanding attitude to music, he's not your typical crowd pleaser.

**Tricky is at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, Shepherd's Bush Green, tonight. 7pm. £22. Call 020 8354 3300.
