One Love Festival – The UK’s only annual reggae camping festival returns with a London monthly residency this month.

The One Love Peace Concert was a large concert held on April 22nd, 1978, at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica. This concert was held during a political civil war in Jamaica between opposing parties; Jamaican Labour Party and the People’s National Party. The concert came to its peak during Bob Marley & The Wailers’ performance of Jammin, when Marley joined the hands of political rivals, Michael Manley (PNP) and Edward Seaga (JLP).

Inspired by this historical moment, today the One Love festival takes place every year in August and is UK’s number one reggae camping festival One Love Festival sees the gathering of music fans to listen to hundreds of performing artists and DJs, playing a selection of Reggae, Dub, and Electronic music. Staged amongst five music areas, the festival also brings a whole host of additional entertainment; including a healing and green field area, body and soul tent, spoken word and lecture areas, workshops and market stalls selling a range of craft. There is also a huge variety of food and drink representing some of the world’s finest cuisines. Due to its success, the team behind the festival are back with a monthly spin off, emulating the One Love atmosphere.

Kicking off on Thursday 26th November the One Love club nights will take place at South London hot spot Plan B; marking the return of the Brixton venue following major renovations. The new look Plan B promises to be a serious contender on the London club scene, drawing in world-class acts, and giving clubbers the opportunity to see huge names in an intimate setting.
