Virtuoso composer and guitarist Juan Martín brings his latest touring show to the UK, and has a date at The Beck with his spectacular Flamenco Dance Ensemble this Sunday.
The world famous musician has composed and choreographed a brand new show that demonstrates the flamboyant dance of flamenco, from its dark and moody intensity to modern displays of furious and fiery machismo.
Martín, who at 23 wrote new music to perform at the 90th birthday celebrations of none other than Pablo Picasso, has always been involved in the cutting edge of performance art, and flamenco in particular.
His work has achieved popularity across the four corners of the globe, with concerts, recordings, books and DVDs all having a major influence on the art world in general.
Voted one of the top flamenco guitarists in the world by Guitar Player, the US magazine, Martín's compositions embrace classical, jazz and modern harmonies while retaining traditional flamenco customs.
He is supported in the show by the finest musicians and dazzling displays by dancers, including Salvador Moreno El Tigre and Raquel de Luna, to create an electrifying explosion of raw energy and passion,
Hailed by The Times as 'A giant of flamenco guitar tradition', Juan Martín's exhilarating live performance is one not to be missed.
