Ed Sheeran has soared to global superstardom over the past few years, and now the singer-songwriter is to perform at Wembley Stadium for three nights.

Sheeran will perform to approximately 90,000 people each night, making these shows his biggest solo undertaking yet.

The singer will also be filming a concert movie of his time at Wembley, which will be similar to that of Katy Perry and One Direction's.

The film will not only show concert footage, but will also look at behind-the-scenes action and pre-performance build up.

Writing on Twitter about the shows last year, Sheeran said: "I've made no secret recently of my ambition to play Wembley Stadium on my own in front of 80,000 people, so I am absolutely over-the-moon to be able to announce it's going to happen next summer."

But what catapulted him into the limelight from a young, aspiring singer from Suffolk, to a London busker, to an international superstar?
