The Weeknd is readying to embark on the first phase of his "Starboy Legend of the Fall" world tour which includes two shows at the O2 Arena.

The Canadian musician kicked off the 46-date tour in Sweden on February 17 and will stop-off in some of Europe's biggest cities.

He will play the O2 Arena on March 7 and 8 which was extended due to huge demand when tickets were released in late 2016.

The tour will support his latest studio album "Starboy" which sees the singer collaborate with the likes of Daft Punk, Lana Del Rey and Kendrick Lamar.

In 2013 The Weeknd played three shows at the Electric Ballroom, which has a capacity of around 1,000 and has since returned to play the O2 Arena a number of times.

He came into prominence in the music world in 2011 but as an anonymous artist after releasing a trio of mixtapes which caught attention from critics and fans alike.

The Weeknd has since gone on to achieve three chart topping studio albums, Grammy awards and an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
