Notting Hill Carnival: Best bars and clubs near the parade route hosting after parties

See some of the best after parties happening near the route if you want to continue the celebrations

More than 60 bands in spectacular colourful costumes, playing Caribbean rhythms will fill the streets this weekend as Notting Hill Carnival returns.

Festivities will run throughout the August bank holiday weekend with plenty of great food and good music.

Thousands are expected to attend both the family celebrations on Sunday (August 27) and the main parade on Monday (August 28).

If you're heading to carnival and want to continue the celebrations into the night, take a look at some of the best after parties happening at pubs and bars near to the parade route.

Road closures will be in place and areas will have restricted access so check before you travel .

Trailer Happiness

Where: 177 Portobello Road, London, W11 2DY

Trailer will be serving food and cocktails outside all day before everyone heads into the bar for its own private lock-in.

Hosting a Sound System Lockdown, partying starts at 5pm and goes on until 2am on Sunday (August 27), and will be repeated on Monday (August 28).

£15 wristbands provide entry for both days or £10 wristbands can be purchased separately for each day - tickets are available online .

The Whippet Inn

Where: 64-66 Chamberlayne Road, London, NW10 3JJ

Finish off the carnival celebrations on Sunday (August 27), with an evening of funk, Hip-Hop, disco and house.

There are 150 tickets available from the pub in advance for £10 or there will be 75 tickets available on the door on the night for £15.

Doors open at 6pm and tickets do not guarantee entry after 8pm.

Shaka Zulu

Where: Stables Market Chalk Farm Road, Camden, London, NW1 8AB

With live bongo and steel pan acoustics alongside the resident DJs and entertainers, guests at this club will be transported to Rio De Janeiro with a Brazilian street party.

Expect street dancers, carnival themed waiters, carnival masquerade and more, all in the hustle and bustle of the famous Camden Market.

The party kicks off at 10pm on Sunday (August 27) and runs until 4am.

Standard advance entry costs £10 and tickets are available online .

Barrio Brixton

Where: 30 Acre Lane, London, SW2 5SG

A fiesta for foodies awaits carnival goers at this hot spot on Sunday (August 27).

The famous brunch will be extended until 4pm for people who can't resist the thought of Huevos Rancheros or a full Latin breakfast.

Then the outdoor Cubana yard will be serving fresh mojitos all day, plus you can party the night away with Subculture Sounds.

Grab your £5 tickets in advance , jump the queue and enjoy a mojito on arrival to kick-start your carnival.

The drink offer is available until 10pm and queue jump is valid until 11pm, otherwise standard entry is free and evening entertainment kicks off at 8pm.

Golden Bee

Where: Singer Street, Shoreditch, London, EC1V 9DD

Grab yourself one, two or three tasty cocktails and enjoy summer carnival after party vibes on the newly refurbished roof terrace.

There will be music from Kele Le Roc (live), DJ Luck & MC Neat and Mr A.

Fun kicks off on Sunday (August 27) from 6pm and tickets are available online for £5.

The Big Chill House

Where: 257-259 Pentoville Road, London, N1 9NL

On Sunday (August 27), the bar will be hosting a Rooftop Bottomless Brunch where guests can feast on traditional and inspired Caribbean food, whilst enjoying two hours of unlimited Reggae Rum Punch on the south-facing roof terrace.

From 1pm, resident DJ Sugai will be taking to the roof decks, then from 6pm, the party moves indoors and onto the dance floor with Blasé Vanguard (Trinidad and Tobago) and Palance DJs.

Entry will be free all day and night, but Bottomless Brunch is reservation only - contact information is available online .
