Metallica have announced details of a UK tour which includes two shows at the O2 Arena .

The legendary metal group will play in London on October 22 and 24 in 2017.

Their WorldWired Tour is in support of latest album "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" which has already kicked off in the US and Asia.

It is the group's tenth studio album in total, which sold 800,000 copies in its first week, solidifying the group's status in the music world.

The record was listed on "best of 2016" lists by the likes of Rolling Stone and Kerrang! magazine.

James Hetfield and co will perform only three other shows in the UK in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham.

Meanwhile they'll be supported by Norwegian heavy metal group Kvelertak on all European dates.

When do tickets go on sale?

They go on general sale at 9am on Friday March 24, via Ticketmaster.

Meanwhile a presale will take place on Tuesday March 21 at 10am for Legacy Met Club Members and all Fifth Members from 11am.
