M.I.A is curating this year's Meltdown Festival and the full lineup features a pick of the best artists around.

The annual cultural event, which is now in its 24th year returns to the Southbank Centre on June 9-18.

The festival will be opened by Mercury prize winning hip hop trio Young Fathers on June 9.

They will be followed by sets from Giggs, Crystal Castles, Soulwax and Yung Lean across the 10-day event.

Meanwhile the curator herself will perform a closing set at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday June 18.

However it might be a rare opportunity for fans to catch the rapper live, as she recently revealed her latest LP 'AIM' will be her last for some time.

The singer-songwriter who was born in Hounslow has garnered acclaim over the years for her thought-provoking lyrics and visuals.

On Meltdown's official website M.I.A said: "I'm bringing together new outlaw musicians from everywhere, who have contributed to keeping things weird, exciting, opinionated, loud, emotional and brave or off the grid in the present climate."

Other performers will include queer pioneers JD Samson and Mykki Blanco, rappers Young M.A and Princess Nokia as well as Tommy Genesis.

Plus there will be a two-hour rave hosted by Awful Records celebrating the Atlanta and London underground music culture.

M.I.A previously reached out to Radiohead on Twitter about appearing at this year's Meltdown to no response.

Past curators of Meltdown have included David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Massive Attack and Nick Cave.
