Orlando Weeks will showcase his debut novel and accompanying album at a one-off London show.

The former Maccabees frontman will head to Union Chapel on December 12.

He will perform alongside a full band and choir, whilst narration will come from comedian Paul Whitehouse.

The artist hopes to recreate the entirety of the unsung hero story 'The Gritterman' live, which was released last month.

The synopsis reads: "As the rest of the world sleeps, the Gritterman goes out to work. Through the wind and the snow. Through the blue-black hours when time slips away, he grits the paths and the pavements and the roads.

"For him, a life without gritting is no life at all."

It marked his first solo project since The Maccabees split and sees him venture into writing and illustration.

The Maccabees disbanded this July, bowing out with a number of farewell shows including three shows at Alexandra Palace.
