Things are looking up in West Drayton, musically speaking at least.

The Blues Bar begun its first open mic night last Sunday and it was a roaring success by all accounts. The first Sunday of every month will see musicians and singers from far and wide descend upon the pub, in Station Road, to jam out their tunes to an eager and appreciative bunch of friendly punters. Bring your skills and show them off on Sunday June 7.

Plenty of fine live and original music at The Crown and Treaty this Friday (May 8). Two groups will be stomping the stage and submitting the sounds out to sentinels of the scene. Sweet Panic from Harrow and London have a repertoire of groovy, indie, rocky and catchy dance tunes for you to get your ears round. Singer Nicola Farmer has great on-stage attitude, a great voice and a great band to back it up.

Everything about Lucid Luna, also on the bill for Friday, screams 60s psychedelia. Listing influences such as Syd barrett, 13th Floor Elevators, Velvet Underground and The Doors they're bound to have a twinge of sound leaning to that direction.
