A threesome of high-energy rockers from London are to play a returning gig this Friday January 22 at The Crown and Treaty on Oxford Road, Uxbridge.
According To You have a fistful of catchy and exciting indie dance tunes which tend to centre around upbeat drums, thumping bass and riffy guitars. Every piece in their set will have you moving and a grooving.
On the same bill are Konsole. An Ealing five piece offering new wave, modern goth and electronica. Delightfully deep and dark and reminiscent of Depeche Mode or very early Spandau Ballet, Konsole are like a musical time machine with a modern twist.
The 80s New Romantics neglected the electric guitar solo but Konsole utilised the instrument with gusto. And that's just one of the many consolations about Konsole.
Last but not least, you have female-fronted, melodious and ambient sounds with a few covers thrown in for good measure from Erol Grey. All this for £5 entry and the Crown and Treaty. If you arrive before 10pm it's absolutely free.
Millions of music lovers all over the world were devastated by the passing of David Bowie last week, myself included, and it's great to see so many heartfelt tributes all over the media and internet.
David opened the door for every misfit to shine in his wake and if there's one way for any artist to show their respect for this icon then it's to be yourself. Remain an individual, stay unique and believe in yourself. There is no vacancy for David's job as it is forever his but your place awaits and only the real you can fit the bill.
