Raw and outrageously raucous are the urban ladies of punk rap known as Nova Twins, and they're about to hit town this Friday (October 16).

The Crown and Treaty pub in Oxford Road, Uxbridge, plays host to this spectacularly gifted girl fronted group who generate grimy guitar riffs behind genuine London street inspired hip hop lyrics. Imagine Skunk Anansie meets Rage Against the Machine with a twist of DJ Fresh and you might get a hint of what's in store for you this weekend.

Playing their Treaty début, Nova Twins are the combined artistic expressions of Amy Love and Georgia South, from South London, who have been close friends (although not actual twins) since way back when. Electronica, dub step and unadulterated rock ooze from their genre-hopping melting pot of sound as well as fashion statements galore. So a night of variety is on the cards and that's just one band.

Also on the bill from The Midlands are The Bad Flowers. A more traditional riff-based energetic British rockiness emanates from this tight sounding Cannock trio. Exciting from the off to the stop and all the breaks in between these guys too are newcomers to the venue so be sure to welcome them with open hearts.

Completing the menu of music are Lucid, a guitar and drum base band from Bedfordshire who are now seasoned Treaty performers. I'll be there and I certainly hope you will too.

Entry to The Crown and Treaty is just £5 but if you arrive before 10pm it's absolutely FREE!

On my radio show on Tuesday (October 20) at 9pm you'll be treated to the acoustic delights of folk rock outfit Mandolin Monday. Possessing their own original Celtic vibrancy, Mandolin Monday has a myriad of styles and influences.

Put Mandolin Monday on Tuesday at 9pm on HayesFM in your diary. 91.8FM in London or on the web.
