Hounslow-based Bhangra musician Rajeev B has released his single Ranjhana without warning - much to the delight of his fans!

The single dropped at midnight on Wednesday (May 27), and has already caused a stir within the Asian music community.

Rajeev B said: "My fans have responded really well to the song, I am truly overwhelmed by the reaction. I have had hundreds of messages via social media from fans appreciating the quality of the music. This was something that was very important for this release.

"Where I used to be popular solely amongst the Asian community I am seeing more and more other cultures appreciating my work. It is always great to see new people appreciate what I do. This has always been the intention."

Fans have greatly enjoyed the surprise release of the song, with one saying: "Amazing to see a British artist trying new things! What a great track!", and another claiming Rajeev B was the "best thing to come from London in a very long time".

The track sees Rajeev B join forces with Pappi Gill with a song that pays homage to 'Rang Kala' by Mukhtar Sahota & Pappi Gill.

Rajeev B said: "I have a few more tracks lined up which are due to release in the coming months.

"I'm due to perform in Las Vegas, USA, Dubai, Canada & India this year also, so I have a pretty tight schedule. I do however always find time to perform at more intimate gigs in London."
