The Eurovision Song Contest is back and this year's event is set to be bigger than ever as last year's winner Conchita Wurst returns to the stage.

But this time, instead of competing to win one of Europe's longest standing television show contests, Conchita will be hosting the event.

Her success means that the 60th anniversary Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria, and the UK is pinning its hopes on duo Electric Velvet when they perform Still In Love With You.

So when is the Eurovision Song Contest 2015?

The Eurovision Song Contest's final is set to take place on Saturday May 23.

The semi-finals leading up to the event will take place on Tuesday May 19 and Thursday May 21.

Where is the Eurovision Song Contest being held?

Due to last year's winner Conchita Wurst's success, the 2015 European Song Contest will take place at Vienna's Wiener Stadthalle arena which has an overall seating capacity of 16,000 people.

The arena has seen the likes of Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams and Bob Dylan previously performing there.

Electric Velvet, the duo made up of Hertfordshire's Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas from Kent, will be leading the UK at the Eurovision this year. The pair will perform Still In Love With You, which is an up tempo electric-swing song that was written by David Mindel and Adrian Bax White.

Usually, Alex Larke splits his time between being a primary school teacher and performing as Mick Jagger in a Rolling Stones tribute band called The Rolling Clones, and tours the UK and internationally with them.

While Bianca Nicholas has previously performed for Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge and has released her debut single Hold On To Your Dreams, which was a top 100 single and number one on the iTunes vocal chart.

The Grand Final qualifiers

As the UK, Spain, France, Germany and Italy contribute the most amount of money to the competition, they automatically qualify for the Grand Final on May 23. And because the 2014 winner Conchita Wurst is from Austria, they are also automatically given a place.

As a special one-off, Australia will be taking part in this year's competition to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the show. Despite the fact they are on the opposite side of the world, Australia have been invited to compete as a wild card and will be represented by Guy Sebastian.

The Semi-Finals

After the six qualifying nations, there are a further 33 that will compete over the course of the two semi-finals. The 33 acts will perform in a bid to become one of the final 20 who will perform at the Grand Final.
