Eminem has been announced as the third headliner for this summer's Reading Festival .

Blossoms , Haim, Charli XCX, The Amazons , Billy Talent and Surrey's own You Me At Six , have also been added to the star-studded line up unveiled on Friday, February 24.

The American rapper will return to Richfield Avenue in Reading following his epic Main Stage appearance there in 2013.

Festival Republic boss Melvin Benn, the man behind Reading and Leeds Festivals, said: "Eminem returning to Reading and Leeds is beyond exciting. His 2013 headline performance was incredible and I can’t want to have him back.

"In addition to our third and final headliner we’ve announced over 70 additional acts to this year’s line up - it’s looking stronger than ever."

Consistently seen as one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem is not only a titan in hip-hop but in modern culture itself.

One of the biggest selling artists of the 21 st century, his razor-sharp wit and impeccable larger than life anthems continue to defy boundaries, with the likes of Lose Yourself, My Name Is, Not Afraid' and The Monster all storming charts and record collections around the world.

The 44-year-old will perform alongside fellow headliners Muse and Kasabian , over the late summer bank holiday weekend (August 25-27).
