British DJ and MBE holder Norman Jay is launching his own, brand new West London festival called Good Times In The Park.

Norman Jay's Good Times soundsystem has been a staple of Notting Hill Carnival since the eighties and a major attraction for thousands who attend the two day August bank holiday event.

However, 2014 will mark the first year of Good Times taking place outside of the Notting Hill Carnival for the first time in its 30 year history.

Instead, the first two day Good Times In The Park festival - and West London's first ever music festival - will take place in Wormwood Scrubs Park on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September.

The line-up includes an exclusive UK performance from Chaka Khan. The weekend will also see Groove Armada, Idris Elba, LTJ Bukem, Toddla T, Fabio and Grooverider, The Brand New Heavies, David Rodigan, Dub Pistols, Ms Dynamite, Goldie, Jazzie B and many more take to the stage.

Tom and Andy from Groove Armada said: “We’re really chuffed at being able to perform for Norman at his first festival. The spirit of a festival starts with the crew of people who are involved in it, and that’s the lovely thing about Good Times In The Park, as Norman has people he grew up with and who were a part of the scene involved.”

Star of The Wire and Luther and a DJ since he was 14, Idris Elba said: “Norman is an absolute gent. When he asked me to play at his festival I was well happy! Good Times on a festival scale, in West London is going to be really special, especially as I haven’t been able to perform in the UK this summer. A banging weekend and I am so happy to be a part of it – boom!”
