Australian electronic group The Avalanches have announced details of a UK tour.

The duo and their touring band will perform at the O2 Forum , Kentish Town on June 21.

They are best known for their two studio albums which were released 16 years apart, as well as their live shows and DJ sets.

The Avalanches are also lined up to play Field Day festival this summer after marking their UK live return at the same festival in 2016.

Their 2016 record 'Wildflower' received critical acclaim and was named one of the best albums of the year by the likes of Q, Pitchfork and Rough Trade.

It was under development since 2005 but a number of setbacks including original members leaving meant fans were left waiting.

However their return was welcomed by listeners as it charted at number one in Australia and reached the top 10 in the UK albums chart.

In 2017 they will also be heading to Manchester and Bristol on the tour and visiting a number of European cities for shows.

Tickets go on presale at 9am on Wednesday March 29 for O2 customers only, whilst general sale takes place at 9am on Friday March 31.
