The London Marathon is one of the biggest community sporting events in the UK, with thousands set to join in and run for a good cause this year, on Sunday April 26.

Last year, a whopping 36,000 runners took part in the 26.2-mile run.

As well as thousands of amazing local residents, dozens of celebrities also take part in the marathon every year, including lots of local faces.

Here are just some of the amazing celebrities from west London participating in the marathon this year:

Oliver Proudlock

Best known for his role in Made in Chelsea, west Londonder Oliver Proudlock will be running for the British Heart Foundation for his first ever marathon.

Hugo Taylor

Another star from BAFTA-winning TV show MiC, Hugo Taylor, will be running for two charities: Malaria No More and Rainbow Trust.

Laura Aikman

Best known for her role in Waterloo Road, and her children's TV (she played Mysti in the Mysti Show), this starlet was born in Brent and will be running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.

Rob Deering

Having lived in west London for the first 12 years of his life, near Heathrow Airport, this comedian is certainly flying the flag for the area! As well as performing musical stand-up comedy, Deering has performed on Celebrity Total Wipe-Out and The Weakest Link.

Deering will be running for Parkinsons UK for his third marathon.

The radio 1 DJ will be running for The Lord's Taverners, a charity for which he is an ambassador.

James Cracknell

Olympian James Cracknell will be running for Headway, a leading brain injury charity.

Henry Holland

The hugely famous designer, and leader of House of Holland, will be running the London Marathon this year. Holland will be running for Cancer Research UK with his sister Olivia, who suffered from breast cancer, and is Holland's inspiration for running.

Ellie Taylor

Comedian and host of Snog, Marry, Avoid is running for Breast Cancer Care, as a number of her family members have had the disease.

Gruffudd Glyn

The actor, who recently starred alongside Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything, will be running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
